During Wednesday's meeting between Nikolic and Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Chepurin it was concluded that all preparations for the beginning of works on the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline in Serbia are happening according to the plan and the start of construction works is expected in December 2013.
The project of reconstruction of the railways in Serbia, which is carried out by Serbia and Russia, should improve Serbia's railway infrastructure in the next five years and create far more favorable conditions for foreign investments, reads a statement by the president's press office.
Nikolic and Chepurin concluded that other strategic projects on which the two countries are cooperating are developeng according to the plan, pointing to the need for the soonest possible preparations of an agreemenet which would define the Serbian-Russian special relations in terms of gas delivery.
