President Nicolic with Clint Wiliamson

Belgrade, 18 October 2012-President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic conferred today with Mr. Clint Williamson, Lead Prosecutor for the Special Investigative Task Force of the European Commission for human organ trafficking in Kosovo and Metohija.

President Nikolic expressed full support to the Lead Prosecutor Williamson and his intention to investigate crimes committed against Serbs. He emphasized, in particular, that our country expected a lot from this investigation and therefore it is ready to fully cooperate with the Special Investigative Task Force.

The Lead Prosecutor Williamson informed President Nikolic of the past course of investigation and problems associated with it. Mr. Williamson added that his investigation would not be limited only to organ trafficking but would also include all crimes committed against Serbs, described in the report by Dick Marty.

President Nikolic and Lead Prosecutor Williamson agreed that it is of exceptional importance for Serbia, for the stability of the region and primarily for the families of the victims that the investigation be carried out smoothly, in full and the perpetrators of these heinous crimes be brought to justice. That is why the entire investigation must be carried out very carefully with a maximum engagement by the governments of the countries in the region concerning the witness protection and enabling unimpeded operation of the Special Investigative Task Force.
