President Nikolic and Nuland discuss region, Serbia's EU integration

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland met in Belgrade on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the Western Balkans and its EU integration process.

President Nikolic stressed that Serbia is putting all its efforts into stabilizing the situation in the region.
That is our course and we will not alter it, despite the fact that not everyone in the region is ready to undertake this difficult task with us, he said.
Nuland stressed that the U.S. supports Serbia on its path towards EU membership and that it is ready to provide assistance in this process. The partnership between our countries is growing stronger through cooperation, and the U.S. would very much like to see Serbia as part of the European family, she said.
Nuland commended the progress Serbia made in implementing reforms aimed at modernizing the country, the president's press office said in a release.
