BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic received the Chairman of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Presidency Mladen Ivanic on Wednesday, expressing commitment to preserving regional peace and stability and noting that the Serbia-BiH ties were good.

"We want to enhance the cooperation with BiH and maintain special ties with Republika Srpska. Political stability is a precondition for better life for the citizens of both states," Nikolic said.

Ivanic said the cooperation between the two countries was on an upward trajectory and that an official visit to BiH by Nikolic would strengthen the good trends in the relations, Nikolic's presidential press office said in a statement.

Ivanic handed to Nikolic an invitation to visit Sarajevo early next year, which Nikolic accepted.
