President Nikolic with President of the National Assembly of Slovenia
Belgrade, 8 October 2015- President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic talked today with President of the National Assembly of Republic of Slovenia Milan Brglez, in Ljubljana.
The President of Serbia and the President of the National Assembly of Slovenia discussed the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between our two countries, where inter-parliamentary cooperation might play a prominent role.
President Nikolic presented to Mr. Brglez the arguments put forward by Serbia with the aim of staving off the Albanian initiative to admit the so-called “Republic of Kosovo” to UNESCO, and called on Slovenia to assist Serbia in the defence and preservation of the Serbian cultural and historical heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
President of the National Assembly of Slovenia showed understanding for the efforts invested by Serbia on this matter. He stressed the importance of regional cooperation and the endeavours jointly put in by Serbia and Slovenia in that regard, in order to create the conditions for deepening the economic and bilateral relations between regional countries.
