President Nikolic with representatives of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija

Belgrade, 28 November 2012 – President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today, in Belgrade, with the Presidents of four municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija: Krstimir Pantic, Slavisa Ristic, Dragisa Milovic and Dragisa Vasic.

In his talks with the Presidents of the municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija, President Nikolic said that Serbia will never recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo and Metohija, and that it would do its utmost to ensure a better life, peace and security of the people living there.

 

Prime Minister of Serbia informed the representatives of Serbs from northern Kosovo and Metohija of the process of implementation of the agreements with Pristina that have been reached so far, primarily concerning the integrated border management and freedom of movement.

 

Presidents of the four municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija requested that the technical implementation protocol should in no way promote or represent a prelude to the independence of Kosovo and Metohija. President Nikolic and Prime Minister Dacic undertook to provide them, by 4 December 2012, with the written text of the technical protocol, which was signed by the provisional authorities in Pristina and by the Republic of Serbia. Subsequently, the Presidents of the four municipalities will address the citizens of northern Kosovo and Metohija.
