BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has said he had discussed with PM Aleksandar Vucic Russia's request regarding the status of staff at the Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre in Nis, noting he personally believed the staff should be treated like members of other organisations engaged in similar activities.

It has been agreed that the Serbian government should examine the rights and obligations of the state regarding humanitarian centres and their staff and make the right decision afterwards, in Serbia's interest, Nikolic told Friday's issue of Politika.

"I personally believe that, if the centre's activities are indeed exclusively humanitarian, there is no obstacle to treating the staff like members of other organisations engaged in similar activities," Nikolic said.
