President of the Republic with Ambassador of the United States of America Kyle Scott
Belgrade, 22 March 2016 – President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic met today in Belgrade with the Ambassador of the United States of America Kyle Scott.
President Nikolic expressed confidence that after the parliamentary elections in Serbia on 24 April, the relations between Serbia and the United States will continue to develop rapidly. Business environment that has been created in Serbia in the past few years may provide numerous benefits to the American investors, and firm commitment of our country to become a full member of the European Union guarantees the stability and security for all foreign companies interested in investing in the Serbian economy, said President Nikolic.
Ambassador Scott said that United States of America sees Serbia as an anchor of stability of relations in the region. Regarding the opening of Chapters 23 and 24 in June this year, American Ambassador emphasized that despite the short time that remains until then, believes that in this process should not be any distractions or problems.
President Nikolic and Ambassador Scott expressed great concern over the terrorist attacks today in Brussels, as well as the enormous regret for the large number of innocent victims. They expressed hope that responsible for these monstrous crimes will be soon apprehended and brought to justice.
