BELGRADE - Serbia will keep on making efforts to establish lasting stability and improve relations between regional countries, although the latest events have clearly showed that not all neighboring countries are sincere when they present themselves as our partners in realization of this goal, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic underlined in the talks with the ambassadors of Slovakia, Finland and Norway on Monday.

Nikolic underlined that it would be good if the EU clearly showed that it appreciates all the effort that Serbia is making by opening the first negotiating chapters in foreseeable future.

“That would at the same time be a clear and unambiguous message to the ones in the region who are trying to bring us back into the time of conflicts and instability - that Europe and the international community appreciate and award only the ones who are ready to constructively participate in building up a better world and whose actions prove that they want cooperation, rather than pointless hostility,” he said.

Slovakia's Ambassador Jan Varso, Finland's Ambassador Pekka Orpana and Norway's Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvag, who were received by President Nikolic in farewell visits, stated that Serbia has made visible progress over the last three years.

They underlined that Serbia has showed determination to resolve problems, courage to implement necessary reforms and willingness to ensure such living conditions to its citizens that are in line with the ones of the European family of nations, reads a statement issued by the president's press service.
