President Nikolic calls on companies to help vulnerable population

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic called on companies in Serbia to join the action to gather food for the flood-hit population.

Serbian president's advisor Stanislava Pak Stankovic told Tanjug that a large number of companies already responded to the call.

Nikolic will personally deliver assistance to some of the most vulnerable citizens around Serbia on Monday, she said.

Nikolic has contacted presidents of countries around the world in connection to the catastrophe that hit Serbia, Pak Stankovic noted.

According to her, the president's calls produced results and many countries came to Serbia's aid.

She noted that Nikolic sent notes of gratitude to presidents of Slovenia, Russia, Belarus, regional countries, Israel and many others, and underscored that the assistance is of vital importance for Serbia.
