President Nikolic with Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development

Belgrade, 10 December 2012 – President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic met today in Belgrade with Abdulwahab Al-Bader, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).

President of Serbia expressed his satisfaction with the loan granted to Serbia and emphasized that Serbia was committed to further improvement of the bilateral cooperation with Kuwait. President Nikolic stressed that the new government had taken over the helm at a very difficult time, and on top of the economic crisis, Serbia had gone through very bad privatizations, systemic corruption, but with a firm belief in and maximum efforts put into eliminating all the weaknesses existing in society.


Our friends in Kuwait could help Serbia emerge from the crisis, said the Serbian President, adding that there were many interesting areas for investment, such as infrastructure and economy.


Abdulwahab Al-Bader said he hoped that in addition to the signed loan agreements, there would be other projects as well that would deepen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. With the establishment of the fund he is leading, the relations with other countries had been improved to a great extent, said Abdulwahab Al-Bader. He expressed the hope that Serbia would be more open to foreign investment and provide an optimum environment for it.


Both officials agreed that cooperation between the two countries was on an upward trend and that meeting at the highest state level would soon take place.
