President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the political and institutional representatives of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija and informed them of the situation before the arrival of the EU Special Representative for Belgrade-Priština Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák. President Vučić also announced that Serbia will significantly help the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and continue to invest in important projects.

"We talked about what problems we are facing, about security problems in Kosovo and Metohija, but also about specific projects," said President Vučić following the meeting in Kuršumlija.

President Vučić thanked the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, who displayed unity in the elections as they realised that this was the only way to fight for their interests.

"I want to thank once again our people in Kosovo and Metohija, who showed seriousness, discipline and everything that did not always adorn us Serbs because people understood how important it is for the survival of our people," the President said.

"We also talked about numerous specific projects and things we will work very hard on. These are the Clinical Hospital Centre Kosovska Mitrovica and the new Clinical Hospital Centre Gračanica, which we are about to start building soon. The new building of the University of Kosovska Mitrovica is also important. These will be the new symbols of success of our people in Kosovo and Metohija," he stressed.

President Vučić also announced that all citizens living in Kosmet will receive additional financial support - the unemployed will get 200 euros each, while all employees and every child will receive 100 euros each.

"It is an agreement with the Office for Kosovo and Metohija that we send special financial support, not to people who are registered, but to those who live in Kosovo and Metohija, especially those 12,000 to 14,000 who are unemployed," the President said and asked the people to keep fighting to preserve their hearths and homes and our Serbian hearth in Kosovo and Metohija.
