Thomas Spangler, Executive Vice President of Brose Group in charge with business operations, said before the ceremony that the first production line was expected to be launched in the middle of next year, adding that the company, after an intensive search for the location for the factory, decided in favour of Serbia and Pančevo.

"The nearness of Belgrade and Novi Sad as university cities is essential for us. In addition to manufacturing facilities, we will have a development department, and we will need skilled staff to deal with the development of hardware and software," said Thomas Spangler and thanked the Government Serbia and Pančevo for their support.

President Vučić emphasised that Brose is one of the factories that will change everything, not only in Pančevo and the Banat region, but will have a positive impact on Belgrade, on the whole of Serbia.

"This is what you live and work for - for days like this. As much as we pay attention to building this factory, it is not enough. This is one of the best things that has happened to Serbia in the last 50 years," President Vučić said at the ceremony. He thanked German companies, but also the German Government and the embassy of that country in Belgrade for helping to attract German investments in Serbia.

"Great and wonderful news for the whole of Serbia! Brose for us means an additional export of 450 million euros; it means 1,100 workers who will have the opportunity to make money for themselves and their families. This is one of the most important steps we have made. I am proud that they will be working in our beautiful country. It will be one of our brain-centres here. We will develop new technologies at this place. From here we will grow, learn and move the whole country. Through such investments, we see the future for our country. Congratulations to the whole of Serbia," said President Vučić
