President Vučić with Biljana Čekić
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić hosted today at Villa Mir Biljana Čekić, the girl who played the role of Dara Ilić in the film "Dara from Jasenovac", as well as the members of her family.

"I am particularly proud today to be able to host Biljana and her family. Although I know that we will never be given an Oscar for such a film, Biljana deserved more than the Oscar - and for the citizens of Serbia, it feels as if she won it," said President Vučić. He pointed out that Biljana is a symbol of not only the fantastic role she played and expressed his belief that there are many more such and even better roles ahead of her.
"This is so important for the Serbian people, that we will never forget her role. She did it most wonderfully, with a lot of emotion. Thank you very much for everything she has done for the Serbian people, for Serbia, for the Republic of Srpska, and she has done so much in so few years," said President Vučić and wished Biljana much success in her future work.

Biljana Čekić thanked the President for his words and the warm and cordial reception.
"Belgrade is beautiful and I am glad that I visited it and met all these wonderful people," said Biljana.
