Meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Tanju Bilgiç, who conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the occasion of the National Day, which reads as follows:

"It is my great pleasure that the friendly relations and cooperation between Turkey and Serbia, as a result of reciprocal ties at all levels, have reached the highest level in their history. Your efforts and leadership have undoubtedly contributed greatly to this success.

My sincere wish is that the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway gets completed as soon as possible, as it is a project of regional friendship and prosperity for which we laid the foundation during my visit to Serbia on October 7 and 8 last year.

I would like to express my pleasure that this year, within the third session of the High Cooperation Council, I will have the opportunity to welcome you in my country and I wish to avail myself of this opportunity to wish you good health and happiness, as well as prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of Serbia," reads the congratulation of President Erdoğan.

Having thanked for the letter, President Vučić said that he was glad for having established a close relation with President Erdoğan as well as cooperation based on mutual understanding and trust. He stressed that the good Turkish-Serbian relations are important for the peace and stability of the region. Ambassador Bilgiç added that these relations are at the highest level in history thanks to the two presidents.

President Vučić and Ambassador Bilgiç agreed that the joint projects and economic cooperation are showing good progress and they expressed the expectation for new Turkish investments in the future and that the two countries will use all the opportunities for cooperation.

Ambassador Bilgiç conveyed to President Vučić the invitation for participation at the first Antalya Diplomacy Forum to address diplomacy in the digital era.
