Meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met earlier today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Valery Brilev, with whom he agreed that all forms of cooperation between the two countries are successfully developing, thanks to more intensive political dialogue at the highest level.

President Vučić said that last year's official visit of President Lukashenko - a consistent and reliable friend of our country - gave a strong impetus to the development of Serbian-Belarusian ties. He emphasised that this friendship, in particular, manifests through the strong support of Belarus to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. President Vučić asked Ambassador Brilev to convey greetings to President Lukashenko.

The two interlocutors stated that, after the coronavirus epidemic, the most important thing is to focus the activities on social and economic recovery. President Vučić expressed readiness for Serbia to send medical assistance to Belarus, if necessary and within the existing possibilities.

President Vučić and Ambassador Brilev discussed concrete steps to strengthen economic cooperation. Ambassador Brilev presented several proposals for cooperation between Serbian and Belarusian companies, as well as for the placement of Serbian products on the Belarus market, which would boost foreign trade.
