Meeting with the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today with the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky, to discuss the further development of Serbian-Russian cooperation in all areas.

President Vučić pointed out that each meeting with any of the Russian officials affirms the high degree of mutual understanding and trust, which outlines Serbia and Russia's relations.

President Vučić noted his recent telephone conversation with President Putin and said that Serbia and Russia's friendly relations are proven in various challenges, even now, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and reiterated his high gratitude for the deliveries of the 'Sputnik V' vaccine. He thanked for Russia's strong and active support in defending Serbia's integrity and independence and its state and national interests.

The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Slutsky, said that Moscow is proud of our two countries' closest relations, which is confirmed by frequent high-level contacts. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia, emphasising his pleasure that joint infrastructure projects, such as the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway, and energy-related projects such as the gas pipeline from the Bulgarian to Hungarian borders, contribute to our country's economic progress.
