Meeting with the President of the World Economic Forum

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today in New York with the President of the World Economic Forum Børge Brende.

„Serbia wishes to become the regional centre of the World Economic Forum for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in order to facilitate technological and economic progress not only for itself but also for the entire Western Balkans", emphasised President Vučić at the beginning of the meeting.

During the meeting, President Vučić informed the representatives of the World Economic Forum about the macroeconomic parameters of the Republic of Serbia and its economic potentials. He emphasised that Serbia has implemented successful economic reforms especially concerning the public debt reduction, attracting foreign investments and development of small and middle-size enterprises.

The President of Serbia thanked for any help the World Economic Forum can offer to Serbia in terms of improvement, opening and positioning of the Serbian economy in the world, considering that the global social-economic development remains the fundamental priority of the Forum.

„The Republic of Serbia tends to be active in all international forums especially in the ones that aim at trade development, unemployment reduction, youth education and other social-economic aspects", said President Vučić.
President of the World Economic Forum Børge Brende said that Serbia - thanks to the implemented economic reforms - marked a significant progress and achieved enviable economic results in the previous period.

The two interlocutors also tackled the initiative where Belgrade would host an event under the auspices of the Forum.
