Meeting with the President of the Republic of Palau

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met in New York with the President of the Republic of Palau Thomas Esang Remengesau and expressed his pleasure because of the repeated meeting after his official visit to our country last January.

President Vučić congratulated President Remengesau the 25th anniversary of the independence of Palau to be celebrated on the 1st October and wished for the overall progress of the country and wellbeing for all of its citizens. He iterated the gratitude for the decision of Palau to revoke the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo thus upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia. 
 
President Vučić and President Remengesau agreed that appointment of the non-residential ambassador of Serbia in Palau is of utmost importance for the development of cooperation between the two countries in various domains. They highlighted the areas of education and scientific researches ie. of youth and sports as the fields with greatest cooperation potential. The interlocutors discussed specific projects which may be implemented in the said areas. 
 
President Remengesau said that the relations between Serbia and Palau are based on respect, understanding and cooperation and suggested more intensive cooperation in international organisations based on joint interests.
