President of Serbia meets the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met earlier today with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Chairperson-in-Office of OSCE Miroslav Lajčák.

President Vučić expressed his deep concern regarding the developments in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and warned that Priština incites tensions and worsening of the security situation with its unilateral and provocative acts. He particularly indicated to Minister Lajčák the manipulations with the alleged poisoning during the ballot counting that affected exclusively the Kosovo and Metohija Albanians and asked what poison actually acts on the national basis and demanded a comprehensive investigation.

President Vučić expressed his gratitude because Slovakia - in spite of pressures - persists in the principled position of non-recognition of so-called Kosovo. Also considering the chairmanship of Slovakia in OSCE, he emphasised it is very important that this organisation preserves its status-related neutral approach especially in the operation of its Mission in Kosovo and Metohija.

Slovak Foreign Minister Lajčák said that the Western Balkans remains in the focus of the Slovak chairmanship over the OSCE and that it keeps monitoring the situation in Kosovo and Metohija with high attention.

President Vučić and Minister Lajčák agreed that the relations between the two countries are very good and that intensive political dialogue also contributes to the economic development improvement.
